Pioneer steigt wieder ins TV-Geschäft ein

Ab Dezember 2013 soll es unter dem Marken-Namen Pioneer wieder eigene TV Modelle geben. Der Verkauf wird zuerst in Skandinavien gestartet und dann auch später in England erfolgen. Das geht zumindest aus einer Pressemitteilung der britischen Handelskette Dixon hervor. Diese hat die exklusiven Rechte für Entwicklung, Herstellung und Verkauf von Pioneer-Fernsehern erworben.

Die ersten Geräte sollen in den Größen 40, 46 und 55 Zoll mit 3D und Smart-TV-Features angeboten werden. Allerdings wird mit dem Neueinstieg nicht die Kuro-Plasma-Serie wiederbelebt, sondern die Bildschirme werden mit LCD-Technik in Verbindung mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung ausgestattet. (jj)

Under the partnership, Dixons Retail has been granted the exclusive rights to source, develop, produce and sell Pioneer TVs in selected European markets.

This marks the return of Pioneer into the European TV market, with the first new product launch in five years. The roll-out of the launch will see Pioneer TVs sold in the Nordic region from December 2013, with an aspiration to extend into the UK market in future.
